Script Services
Services offered through JessiFinnWilder.com may include script reading, script coverage, script consulting, script editing, screenwriting coaching, and other writing-related services.
The specific scope, price, turnaround time, and deliverables for each service will be described on the applicable service page or communicated before the service begins.
Services are provided based on the materials and information supplied by the client.
Creative Ownership
You retain ownership of the screenplay, treatment, outline, concept, characters, and other original creative materials you submit to me for professional services.
Submitting your work for script services does not transfer ownership of your intellectual property to Jessi Finn Wilder.
I do not claim ownership of client screenplays or other original creative materials submitted for review.
Feedback, notes, editorial suggestions, coaching, and recommendations provided as part of my services do not give me ownership or authorship of your project.
Confidentiality of Client Materials
I understand that scripts and other creative materials may contain unpublished or confidential work.
Client materials will be used for the purpose of providing the service requested and communicating with the client.
I will not intentionally publish, distribute, sell, or publicly share a client's unpublished screenplay or creative materials without permission, except when disclosure is required by law.
Clients should maintain their own copies and backups of all materials submitted.
No Guarantee of Results
Script consulting, coverage, editing, and coaching are intended to provide professional feedback, guidance, and support. Creative industries are subjective, and results cannot be guaranteed.
Purchasing a service does not guarantee:
- Representation by an agent or manager
- A screenplay sale or option
- Employment in the film or television industry
- Acceptance into a screenwriting competition, festival, fellowship, or program
- Advancement or placement in a competition
- A particular score or evaluation from The Black List or another coverage service
- Financing or production of a project
- Interest from producers, studios, networks, streamers, or production companies
- Any particular financial or career outcome
Any discussion of competitions, submissions, representation, pitching, or industry strategy should be understood as guidance rather than a promise of results.
Professional Opinions and Creative Feedback
Script notes, coverage, editing suggestions, evaluations, and coaching reflect professional and creative opinions.
Clients remain responsible for deciding whether to implement any suggestion or change.
Different readers, producers, executives, competitions, representatives, and audiences may have different reactions to the same material.
Payments
Prices for services are listed on JessiFinnWilder.com or otherwise communicated before purchase.
Payment may be required in full before work begins unless a payment plan or other arrangement has been agreed upon.
For coaching packages or other services offered through a payment plan, the client remains responsible for payments according to the agreed payment schedule.
Failure to make required payments may result in services being paused or discontinued.
Cancellations and Refunds
Because script services require reserved time and individualized creative work, payments may become non-refundable once work has begun.
If you need to cancel before work begins, please contact me as soon as possible.
Refund eligibility may depend on the service purchased, whether work has begun, and the circumstances of the cancellation.
Once script coverage, editing, consulting notes, or another completed deliverable has been provided, that service is generally considered completed and is not eligible for a refund.
For coaching packages, any cancellation or refund terms provided at the time of purchase or in a separate coaching agreement will apply.
Scheduling and Coaching Sessions
Coaching or consultation sessions may be conducted through Zoom or another agreed communication platform.
Clients are responsible for attending scheduled sessions on time.
If a client needs to reschedule, reasonable advance notice should be provided. Repeated missed sessions or last-minute cancellations may result in the session being considered used.
Specific scheduling, cancellation, and rescheduling requirements may also be provided when a coaching package is purchased.
Client Responsibilities
Clients are responsible for providing accurate information and submitting materials in the requested format.
By submitting a screenplay or other creative material, you represent that you own the material or otherwise have the legal right to submit it for review.
You agree not to submit material that infringes another person's copyright, trademark, privacy, or other legal rights.
Website Content and Intellectual Property
Unless otherwise stated, the original content on JessiFinnWilder.com, including written articles, blog posts, graphics, branding, original photographs, downloadable materials, and other original content, belongs to Jessi Finn Wilder and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.
